Study For A Business Writing Exam

Make your employer look good by writing professionally. This starts with the way you study for your business writing exam. An effective study program makes proper correspondence etiquette second nature before exam day.

Instructions

1. Start before your course begins. Purchase your text books before the course starts and read from cover to cover. Pay attention to how you're supposed to do your correspondence. Go back and read the first two chapters. Do the chapter exercises.

2. Have your pen and pad ready to take notes starting your first day. Take notes every class, and study all these notes every night.

3. Apply class concepts to your work environment. Don't send communication to your teacher without applying applicable business writing concepts learned in the class. Do your business writing exercises.

4. Find time to practice the business writing technique that you recently covered in class. Do every take home exercise and every chapter exercise.

5. Get a business writing study-group together to study for written exams. Have each person select specific chapters so that they could quiz the group on those chapters. A week before the exam, go back through the business writing textbook. You want to know how each correspondence is put together and what goes in it.

6. Rest. Don't stay up late the night before the exam, and don't eat heavily the morning of the exam. Arrive early so that you could listen to any hints the instructor gives when students file in.
