Magnetic bumper stickers allow you to stick your message on your vehicle without leaving permanent marks. You can even transfer the sticker from one car to another with no problem. Or if you no longer like or need the sticker you can simply remove it, there's no hassle. Magnetic bumper stickers are easy to design and make. By making your own you can create whatever you like, whatever statement you would like to portray or even make them and sell them for a fundraiser or event.
Instructions
1. Think about the kind of bumper sticker you want to design. If it helps you can draw out your concept on paper first but this is not required. Open your word processing program and open a new document. Create a box that is 3-by-11 inches (the normal size of a bumper sticker) so your design will be scaled and formatted correctly.
2. Use clip art, designs you find online, a logo or design you create yourself of anything else you would like. Add in your text and select your size, color and font. Print out a test sheet on regular white paper. Look it over and make sure everything is to your specifications, the color, look and the message. If not then make the necessary changes and do another test print.
3. Place a sticker sheet in your printer. Print the design. You can print two to a page if you would like. Remove the sheet from the printer and allow to dry for several minutes. Wet ink can easily be smudged and thus ruin the design.
4. Carefully cut the design out, being sure not to cut across any lines or cut unevenly. Peel off the backing and press the sticker on a magnetic sheet. Start at one end and smooth down the sticker as you go so it won't wrinkle or bunch up and ruin the design. Smooth out the sticker and make sure all the edges and corners are securely stuck down.
5. With a paper cutter carefully cut the magnet according to the sticker. That's it, you can just stick your magnetic bumper sticker to the back of your car and you're set to go.
