Start speed dating and you might find your long-term partner.
Speed dating involves an equal number of men and women sitting opposite each other and, when a horn sounds, talking for three or four minutes. When the horn sounds again the women all move to the next man and talk to him for three or four minutes, and so on. As they go, they mark a card to indicate whom they like, and at the end of evening take it further by arranging a date. Often there is entertainment at the end of the evening which is included in the cost. Speed dating is a good way to meet possible partners.
Instructions
1. Read local newspapers for speed-dating events in your area. See if a friend will come with you for moral support.
2. Browse the Internet for speed-dating sites, typing in "Speed dating" into the search bar of your search engine. You might want to add your town or city to the search so you get local events. Most companies offer speed-dating nights by age group. Read the reviews to give you an idea of the right one to choose.
3. Arrive at the venue early so you can speak to the host and see the layout. At it is your first time, let her explain the rules and benefits. She will also advise what sort of questions to ask, as you have such a short time.
4. Use the questions that were suggested to you and think of some unusual questions or different ones for each person you speak to. This makes it more interesting for both you and the other speed dater.
5. End the evening by talking to anyone who impressed you. Arrange a date if you feel you want to find out more. You can arrange more than one date, but it is not essential.
