Write a Dating Profile Tag Line
You can pay your bills online, do your taxes online and even, if you are lucky, find a mate online. Many dating sites will ask you to post a tag line about yourself within your profile. A tag line is a short blurb that tells the dating community who you are. The tag line will then appear next to your picture when users browse the site. A good tag line will result in more users clicking on your profile and perhaps even requesting a meeting as a result.
Instructions
1. Find out how many words or characters you have to work with. If the website cuts your tag line short, that fantastic tag line that you came up with may end up sounding ridiculous or even offensive.
2. Use a humorous catch phrase or statement. Humor lets other users know that you are entertaining and fun to be with. It is also much more impressive than simply stating that you are "entertaining and fun." Examples of this would be "Good catch seeks fisherman" or "I'm a sheep in wolve's clothing".
3. Insert a quote from your favorite book or movie as your tag line. If other users recognize your quote, they will be more likely to click on your profile. This can also result in meeting someone who has the same interests as you.
4. Ask family members and friends for suggestions. Loved ones will often be able to point out things about you that you do not see. You can then mention these quirks or personality traits to the dating community in your tag line.
5. View yourself as a business. Businesses use tag lines to attract customers. You need a tag line to attract dates. By putting yourself in an objective light, you may be able to come up with a much better assessment of your personality than simply referring to yourself as a "nice person." You could be a "sound investment" or "more reasonable than the competition."
6. Turn the tables on yourself. Evaluate what sort of tag line would make you want to click on another user's profile. Would you prefer something zany? Traditional? Fun-loving? Use the type of tag line that you would be most likely to find attractive in order to attract similar personality types.
7. Browse other user's tag lines to get an idea of what words and phrases are overused and what information to avoid. If too many people state that they are "intelligent and funny" or "fun-loving and exciting" you many want to avoid such common words in your tag line. If browsers see certain words and phrases too often, they lose their power and will result in profiles that contain overused phrases being passed by.
