The HDTV-compatible Hitachi CP-X995 projector features, among other attributes, a 300:1 contrast ratio and 4,500 lumens of brightness. You should replace the bulb in your Hitachi CP-X995 projector right away when the bulb-life indicator illuminates. If you attempt to run the projector on the old bulb after its lifespan has been exceeded, you risk shattering the bulb and permanently damaging the projector. Order replacement bulbs from Hitachi or an office-supply store and keep one ready in the event of a bulb failure. With proper preparation, you can replace the bulb yourself in minutes.
Instructions
1. Turn off the power to your projector. Pull the power cord from the wall outlet and let the projector cool for at least 45 minutes to avoid injury.
2. Turn the projector upside down on a stable, flat surface. Remove the screw over the bulb cover with a flat screwdriver. Lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Loosen the screws on each end of the bulb grip with a flat screwdriver. Lift the bulb out of the compartment by the grip. Do not touch the bulb or the inside of the bulb compartment.
4. Insert the new bulb into the compartment. Tighten the two screws on the grip with a flat screwdriver. Replace the bulb compartment cover and tighten the screw with a flat screwdriver.
5. Turn the projector upright. Plug in the power cord. Turn the power on, press and hold the "RESET" button for at least three seconds. Watch for "LAMP xxxx hr" to appear on the display, then press "RESET." Press the left arrow button to select "0" and let the display clear.
