Requirements


This occupations requires a high school diploma or GED. Some employers require previous experience with telecommunications, electronics or cable equipment, but will provide on-the-job training if necessary. Because satellite installation technicians travel to customers and businesses, a valid driver's license is required and candidates are required to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Good physical fitness is also required, because these professionals often climb tall ladders and install and carry heavy equipment to rooftops.
