About Furnished Apartments

Apartments come either furnished or unfurnished. When it comes to furnished apartments, they usually range in size and in the amount and design of the furnishings. They aren't always modern or spacious, but they are definitely convenient.

Features

Furnished apartments usually include all the basics. These would be a bed, dresser, TV, closet space and some form of parking. Then they can be really elaborate and also include appliances, washer, dryer, furniture and all kitchen items such as pots, pots, utensils and silverware. This would be a situation where the only thing needed to move in would be clothes and personal care items. Furnished apartments usually include utilities, or at least a portion of them as well.

Function

The main function of a furnished apartment is twofold.: It makes it easy for a tenant to move in with little belongings, and because of this convenience, it makes it easier for a landlord to rent.

Types

There are many different sizes and types of furnished apartments. They are usually based on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. They also come in studio efficiency size, multi-story and even a whole floor of a house.

A studio efficiency is basically a big, open room with a small kitchen, living room and bed all in that same room, and a private bathroom. They are most popular in the bigger cities.

Sometimes furnished apartments are part of a duplex and have two floors. Usually the living space will be downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom will be upstairs.

Then there are the apartments that are a whole floor of a house. Oftentimes this is the top floor, with a family or single person living downstairs.

Identification

Sometimes furnished apartments come with roommates. There is a shared area, known as a "common" area. Each person gets their own bedroom and the common areas are usually the kitchen, bathroom, living room, garage or basement and deck. Bills are usually split amongst all the roommates.

Considerations

Furnished apartments tend to be more expensive. Usually the less that is needed to move in, the more expensive the rent.

Benefits

The biggest benefit of a furnished apartment is the convenience factor. This is especially the case with the ones that have all utilities included and nothing is needed to move in except for clothes.
