Online Aacsb Degrees

AACSB business schools have international recognition.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, or the AACSB, is an accrediting organization that was founded in 1916 specifically for schools in the business sector. The AACSB, like other accrediting agencies, reviews curriculum, degree programs, faculty qualifications and other important factors in order to determine whether or not schools are maintaining standards of quality. AACSB accredits some schools offering online business degrees.

East Carolina University

East Carolina University, located in Greenville, North Carolina, offers an AACSB fully accredited online Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree through its Online Programs Office and the College of Business. East Carolina has helped pave the way for other recognized universities offering online degrees. ECU offers various online degree programs, of which the MBA is the most prominent. The MBA offered at ECU has several possible areas of specialization such as finance, business ethics, marketing, operations management and even business information systems management. ECU uses a formula to determine which students are admitted to the program. The formula depends upon the length of time students have been in the work force, GMAT score and grade point average.

University of Houston at Victoria

Also accredited by the AACSB, the University of Houston (UH) offers an online MBA program through its its satellite campus in Victoria, Texas. The UH program is an established program recognized by the business community for its global focus. The program has several areas of emphasis including entrepreneurship, management, economic development, marketing, finance, general business, accounting and economic development. UH also offers different types of programs in its online format. For example, the school also offers a strategic MBA that is cross-disciplinary in nature rather than cross-cultural as the "Global MBA" is. Students interested in entrepreneurship may also want to consider the online master of science degree in economic development and entrepreneurship. Minimum admission requirements for the program are a 2.5 GPA and a score of 450 or higher on the GMAT.

Penn State University

Like ECU, Pennsylvania State University (PSU or Penn State), has emerged as one of the leaders among established universities offering online programs. In fact, Penn State ranked among the leading universities in the United States, placed in the top 50 by U.S. News & World Report. Penn State's iMBA is the equivalent of the on-campus program offered by the school of business. PSU's online degrees are the same as those offered on campus, and its business degree is fully accredited by the AACSB. The university also offers a degree completion program at the bachelor's degree level for those who have already completed general education requirements elsewhere. Areas covered in the Penn State program include operations management, marketing, accounting and finance.
