Microsoft Partner Program Requirements

Microsoft Partner Program allows you to excel in your areas of expertise.


The Microsoft Partner Network is a program designed by Microsoft for the benefit of the global business community. Members of the Microsoft Partner Program gain many benefits available only to a select few. Some of these benefits include regular news updates, product demos and educational resources. While anyone can sign up for the Microsoft Partner Network, there are requirements that must be met to receive many of the benefits.


Sign Terms and Conditions


Like most services, Microsoft requires all members to sign their terms and conditions. This pretty much lays bare all of the legal technicalities involved with joining the program, and it protects the company and the member from meaningless legal disputes.


Complete Member Profile


Members who join the program are also required to complete their profile. This allows Microsoft and the members of the program to know where they stand in relation to other members. This helps Microsoft and its members to tailor the program to better suit the needs of all its members.


Fee Requirement Met for Your Country


Certified Partners and Gold partners are required to pay membership fees based on their countries of origin. This helps to fund the program and to better illustrate the prestige of being a member with one of advanced standing.


Two Certified Employees or One Certified Tested Solution


Certified Partners are required to have completed requirements that certifies them in at least one area of expertise. These certifications are issued by Microsoft and basically state that the individual who has obtain the certification is able to meet the Microsoft standard of expert status.


50 Qualifying Partner Points


Microsoft Certified Partners are also required to have obtained at least 50 qualifying partner points. These are obtained by fulfilling requirements set for by Microsoft for their partners. The requirements needed to gain Partner Points vary by department.


Membership in at Least One Microsoft Competency


Gold partners are required to have met the requirements needed for membership in at least one Microsoft Competency. Microsoft Competencies are areas of specialization that go above and beyond the standards of general certification.


120 Qualifying Partner Points


Microsoft Gold Partners are also required to have obtained 120 partner points, thus showing their superior level of commitment and achievements.
