Ideas For Salon Set Ups

A salon's style affects its functionality directly. The interior d cor should reflect your target clientele and still show your personal sense of style. Decorating your salon demands important decisions, and you may be required to consult with interior designers. The final outlook of your salon will determine the impression you make to your clients. Investing in beautiful interiors will prove beneficial to your salon business.


Salon Walls


Paint your walls with colors that are soothing to the client's eyes. Decorate walls with wall hangings, pictures of your best works or artistic items of your choice to compliment your salons style. Consider the position of shelves and cabinets along walls, how and where you place them should be functional. Place hooks on walls to hang aprons, blow driers, coats and bags.


Reception


The reception gives the first impression of your salon. Create a functional and warm reception. Select a functional and impressive reception desk. Choose comfortable couches and add magazines that clients can read as they wait. Place a water dispenser and/or a coffee maker from which clients can serve themselves. Add a kid's table for younger clients and include toys they can use. Put up a television or a stereo to entertain your clients.


Service Stations


Use styling chairs that complement the service you are giving. At the shampooing area, use reclining chairs with leg rests and chairs with front armrests for manicures. Mirrors can be fixed on walls or stand-alone. Keep a handheld mirror so clients can look at the backs of their heads. Select furniture to blend with your salon's theme. Select facial chairs with backrests or double-up massage beds as facial beds. Each staff member should have a personal service area with ease of access to products and equipment.


Shelves and Cabinets


Install inbuilt cabinets to save on space. Select a design that complements the theme of your salon. Choose a cabinet big enough for all your storage needs or install several cabinets to serve the purpose. If you sell products, display them in the cabinets, but use clear glass for the cabinet doors. Install shelves above service areas for easy access to products. Design shelves to compliment the salon's interior.
