Write A Statement For Fundraising

Careful fundraising is more than just having a bake sale or car wash.

Most communities have needed to create and foster fundraising efforts at one time or another, be it for a school, library or playground. Efficient fundraising is more than just haphazardly having a bake sale or car wash, rather it involves setting clear, realistic goals and strategizing with your community members about best meet those goals. A case statement is a concise document written primarily for donors to encourage them to donate by giving them a vivid picture of who you are and what your needs are.

Instructions

1. Explain who you are and how long your community has been in existence. For example, if you're a library committee raising money to build a new children's wing for the local library, write that. On the other hand, if you're a group of concerned parents who want to refurbish a neighborhood playground, state that.

2. Explain your goal and why it is important for your community. Describe clearly how the community will benefit from fulfilling such an objective. For example, a new children's wing of the library will directly contribute to children's education and sense of imagination.

3. Itemize how your organization plans on raising the money for this cause and when you plan on having it completed. Explain how your donor's potential gift will be used.

4. Explain concisely why these particular donors should contribute to this cause. Give specific examples of how it would benefit the local community and is a bold philanthropic move.

5. Close the statement by inviting the potential donors to contact the head of your committee if they have any questions. Provide contact information.
