Use A Folding Bicycle

Folding bicycles are the city commuter's best friend.

Folding bicycles are the do-all commuter vehicle. Most folding bicycles were designed as strictly urban vehicles used to transport you from your house to the train station, bus stop or subway. Most folding bicycles have 20-inch wheels and fold up with one hinge in the center of the crossmember and one on the handlebars. You can simply fold up your bicycle and carry it on the train or bus with you, deterring thieves and providing a mode of transportation that is constantly with you. Using your new folding bicycle is simple, and regardless of the model or brand of bicycle you purchased, you can follow these simple steps.

Instructions

1. Pull the bicycle out of the bag and lay on flat ground. Push the release button on the center crossmember hinge and swing the front wheel forward. Lock the crossmember into place by letting the release button pop into place.

2. Fold the right and left pedals down into position, and push the release button on the handlebars. Swing the handlebars up into position and lock into place with the release button. Open the quick release at the base of the handlebars, and pull the bars up to a comfortable riding position, then lock them in place with the quick release tab.

3. Open the quick release tab on the base of the seat post, and raise the seat to a comfortable riding position. Close the quick release to secure the seat in place, then put up the kickstand, mount the bike and take off. Upon reaching your destination, you can leave the bike outside or fold up by reversing Steps 1 through 3.
