Get inspired with some ideas for marketing your business.
As a small business owner, entrepreneur or even an employee of a company, the concept of marketing may seem a daunting task. In reality, though, marketing has some simple ideas you can use as you work your way into some of the more complex marketing activities. Draw inspiration from some marketing ideas from various sources and then modify the ideas as necessary to meet the needs of your specific business.
Email Campaign
One of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to engage in marketing is to create and launch an email marketing campaign. Choose a focus for your campaign, such as the launch of a new service or an upcoming sale. Decide how many emails you want to include in the email campaign (a series of five to seven emails may do the trick or you may decide to run only three different emails during the campaign). Create a schedule by choosing a date for each email to go out, and be sure that you send the emails only to the subscribers on your email list the information is relevant to.
Article Marketing
Article marketing is the act of writing an informational article that is relevant to your business and industry as well as current and potential customers. Common articles include how-to style articles, myths and truths articles or other types of articles that share useful information with your audience. Once you write the article, you can then submit it to online article directories for free. The key to article marketing is to complete the resource or author box that is at the bottom of the article submission site. This is the area where you can write a short professional description about you and your business and include a link to your business website.
Public Relations Requests
Websites such as Help a Reporter Out (HARO) send out emails twice a day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) that are full of writers, reporters and other business owners requesting expert quotations, interviews and other opportunities to gain publicity for your business. Monitoring public relations listings such as HARO allow you to respond to opportunities where you may find your name and business name in print or online publications, books, articles and more. Public relations is a completely free way to expose your potential audience to your business, and it may come from as simple a step as responding to an author's request to interview you for a book they are writing on your industry.
