You must create a Yahoo! account before you can access a wide range of features including Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger. You only need to set up one account to use these features, however. Your Yahoo! ID gives you access not only to email and messaging services, but also to Yahoo! Groups, games and more. Once you have your account up and running, you can take advantage of these services. In most cases, you do not need to do anything further or install special software.
Instructions
1. Direct the browser of your choice to Yahoo!. Click the "Sign Up" link near the top of the screen on the right side.
2. Type the required information for your new account into the appropriate fields. This information includes your full name, gender, date of birth, zip code, desired Yahoo! ID and password, and information that can help you recover your password if you lose it.
3. Type the security code into the appropriate field when you are done entering your personal information. Click "Create My Account," and then click "Continue" to begin using your Yahoo! account.
4. Click the "Mail" option on the left side of the page to go to your Yahoo! email inbox. Click "Messenger" in this same list to go to a page where you can download Yahoo! Messenger.
