College graduates ready to move on to their next adventure.
Co-op (cooperative educational) programs enable students to deepen their practical working experience through interning while studying. Canadian universities have incorporated several co-op programs at the master's level. These differ according to length and requirements; however, in the masters co-op program students get paid for their assistance while being rewarded with more hands-on, relevant knowledge of their various fields, increasing their job marketability.
University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa offers a master's co-op program worth 6 graduate credits. Although the standard length of the program is one semester, it can be extended to two semesters depending on grades and pace. Graduate students enrolled in the co-op program are required to learn another language and to be a full-time student. Graded pass or fail, this rigorous program is structured to prepare the graduate student for the world of work as an intern.
