Fill A Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman Fountain Pen

Fill a Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman fountain pen.

The Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman fountain pen is considered to have one of the most complex filling mechanisms of fountain pens. However, it is also considered to be a much cleaner fountain pen because the nib does not have to be submerged and then wiped off once it's filled. The process to fill a Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman fountain pen is slightly different from that of filling most fountain pens.

Instructions

1. Unscrew the plunger knob, which is located on the end of the Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman fountain pen. Press gently in on the knob as you turn it until you feel a click, which indicates that the pen is tube is fully extended. The tube now extends fully out the nib of the fountain pen.

2. Hold the tube over the ink bottle. Pull the plunger knob out as far as it will go.

3. Immerse the tube into the ink bottle.

4. Push the plunger knob all the way down, and then allow the tube to sit in the ink for a few seconds so that it can breathe in the ink.

5. Screw the plunger knob back onto the pen, which will cause the tube to recede into the pen barrel again, now filled with ink.
