Online advertising is a great way to earn some extra cash from your blog or website.
The Internet revolutionized the media, creating a new medium for information to be passed through. Today, most users have a blog, website or web page online that they update regularly with content that they think would interest the general online community. Not many users have advertisements on these pages, however, even though they have advertising space. In fact, selling online advertising space is so easy that anyone with a blog or web page could have ads running within a few days.
Instructions
Decide Placement
1. Before any advertisements can be placed on a web page, the owner of that page must decide where he wants to place ads and in what format. Advertisements are offered in general formats, such as banners, large or small squares and large rectangles with either four or five ad boxes in them. Decide which formats work best with your web template.
2. Go to Adbrite.com and click on "create an account." Fill out all required information and accept the terms and conditions. Then, click on "Create an ad zone on your site."
3. Select the ad format that you want displayed on your site. Banner ads and text ads come in varying sizes, so choose the one that fits best. Then click on "Set ad specs."
4. Pick the size and color for the ads and choose whether to show only family-friendly ads or not. Then, decide whether to auto-approve the ads and select whether you want a "house ad", an ad that allows users to advertise on the page if there are ads currently available. Then, click on "Next".
5. Describe the blog or site, including the URL and keywords about the content on the site. Then, decide on the name for the ad zone and click on "get ad code".
6. Place the ad code on the website and wait for clicks and impressions to add up from traffic. A check is sent once you've made at least $100.
