Creative Business Project Management Tools

Any project manager leading a creative sector should give her creative team members the project management tools needed to produce an innovative, interesting and refreshing creative project. These business project management tools will allow creative team members to collaborate on media and document files, add annotations, edit important information and communicate with each other.

bubbl.us

bubbl.us is a brainstorming application for creating mind maps. Mind maps are colorful and visual maps of interconnected text bubbles. The interface is clean and user friendly, and the bubbles can be dragged and dropped across the interface to connect to other bubbles, or the colors of the bubbles can be changed for simple categorization. Invite project members to a bubble.us mind map through email, which allows them to automatically join. Owners of the mind maps can allow other team members to edit the mind maps, or change permissions so that the mind maps are viewable only. Mind maps can be saved on the bubble.us control panel, printed out, or embedded into websites and blogs. bubbl.us is free to use at the bubble.us website.

Twiddla

Twiddla is a creative co-browsing and team whiteboard application. Twiddla allows project managers and project team members to simultaneously view websites, images and documents. These files can then be marked up, annotated and commented on by anyone invited into that Twiddla co-browsing session. After logging into a meeting session on Twiddla, members can enter websites or files into the Twiddla interface, and then use the writing, coloring and drawing tools to make comments and suggestions. Twiddla can help project team members improve websites and files, collaborate on ongoing projects and find creative solutions to problems. Users can register for a Twiddla account at the Twiddla website, but inviting collaborators to a Twiddla meeting session does not require creating additional accounts.

Octopz

Octopz is a project management and collaboration tool for creative people who work with digital media. Up to five people at a time can view and comment on videos, digital media, documents and other related files. When users are marking up a video, comments show up on a timeline of the video, so that different parts of the video can be annotated and users can suggest edits for improvement on particular shots. Owners can create an Octopz meeting room and invite other project team members through email. Users can also collaborate in an online, interactive whiteboard to share ideas through chat, pictures and text bubbles, and integrate webcams and instant messaging into the Octopz interface. Users can archive project information on the Octopz interface to access later. Octopz can be purchased at the Octopz website.
