Make A Beaded Keychain

Why settle for a plain old key chain when you can create your very own beaded key chain? By following these easy instructions, you can make your own beaded key chain, and may even have others asking you to make one for them.

Instructions

1. Find a flat surface where you can make your beaded key chain, since you’ll be arranging the beads before actually stringing them. You can use a bead tray, a table mat or even a towel (so the beads don’t roll away).

2. Measure the elastic cord to the length you want your key chain to be. Leave an extra inch or so--on both ends--to tie knots when you’re done. Lay it out on the flat surface.

3. Select your first bead, the one you’d like to be the focal point of your key chain. Then experiment with your other beads until you’ve arranged them in a pattern you like. Line them up next to the elastic cord, which will serve as a measuring tape.

4. Knot one end of the elastic cord to the key ring.

5. Thread the row of beads as you’ve previously arranged them onto the elastic cord, then tie off the other end of the cord onto the key ring.

6. Make sure you’ve tied a double knot at both points on the key ring, then trim off excess cord.
