Use A Zebra 4000 Label Maker

Zebra Technologies manufactures automatic identification products and specialty digital printing for businesses worldwide. The Zebra 4000 Series label maker is a commercial-grade printer that can produce tickets, shipping labels, parts tracking, goods labels or other tags or labels with detailed graphics or fonts. Using the Zebra 4000 printer involves setting up the printer paper and ribbon.

Instructions

1. Raise the top cover of the printer and press the "Printhead Open" lever on the lower left side of the printer. This will cause the printer assembly to pop up. Fold down the Media Guide arm, located on the right side of the printer near the top, and slide it out as far as possible.

2. Place the roll of paper on the Media Supply Hanger near the center of the printer on the left-hand side and push it in completely. Fold the Media Guide arm up and slide it against the outer edge of the paper roll.

3. Feed the front edge of the paper roll under the spindle, which is a roller in the center of the printer, under the ribbon sensor, which is the large bar on the left side of the printer, and out the front of the printer.

4. Push the paper guide lever in until it is against the outer edge of the paper roll. The paper guide lever should be resting underneath the paper roll and is located next to the spindle. Close the top cover of the printer.

5. Load the ribbon by opening the cover and placing the roll on the ribbon supply spindle and pushing it in completely. Pull the ribbon end over the ribbon sensor, under the printhead assembly (the large bar on the left side of the printer) and up and over the ribbon guide plate.

6. Wind the ribbon end onto the spindle several times in a clockwise direction until the ribbon is snug and free of wrinkles. Close the printer cover.

7. Test the printer by pressing down and holding the "Cancel" button while turning the printer on. Release the "Cancel" key once the front panel indicators begin to turn off. A self test will be performed and a test label will be printed.
