Customer Appreciation Day Work

How Does a Customer Appreciation Day Work?

Businesses host customer appreciation days in an attempt to thank their customers for patronizing their business. The business will usually sponsor the customer appreciation days on an annual basis. The special event can be just for one day, or it can span over several days. Some businesses are very extravagant with their discounts and giveaways. Some even offer entertainment and food. Their business is gaily decorated to attract attention.

Discounts and Giveaways

Businesses typically slash prices during customer appreciation days. Merchandise can be purchased with savings of anywhere from 10 to 50 percent off. If the business offers a service, the discount will be advertised as a savings towards this service, or perhaps by offering great financing terms, such as 0 percent interest or no payments for an extended time.

Retail merchandisers will plan a gala celebration on site. There will be discounts on purchases, as well as specials on sale items. The business may decide to have door prizes or a large collection of small items to give away to each customer that attends. These items are generally things that will have the business's name embossed on them and will be pertinent to the type of business.

Customer appreciation days are looked at as a socializing event in smaller areas. When a lot of the customers know each other, it is a good way to get together and visit. The business benefits, too. They are not only advertising great deals, they are drawing customers in. These customers will normally purchase something.

Food, Fun and Entertainment

Bigger businesses offer food at customer appreciation days. The food may be hot dogs, barbecue or even huge pots of chili. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a sandwich, along with soda, coffee or hot chocolate. The businesses do not forget that people bring their children along. There are usually balloons, candy or small toys for the kids.

Depending on the business's budget for their appreciation days, they may even hire a band to play on their parking lot or an inside area. Some host special events that are only available during customer appreciation days. A jewelry store may offer fabulous prices from a special designer, or a motorcycle store will bring in an artist who does graphic designs.

Businesses will advertise their customer appreciation days for many months. They will distribute fliers and place ads in newspapers and on the radio. They know that they are not only offering great deals to their customers, they are also helping their business grow. Realistically, customer appreciation days works to the advantage of both the customer and the businesses that host them.
