Use Old Calendars To Make Greeting Cards

Impressing your friends and family members with custom made greeting cards doesn't have to take hours and incredible scrapbooking talent. In fact, anyone can create whimsical, funny or beautiful greeting cards by simply pairing images from old wall calendars with coordinating card stock.

Instructions

1. Sort through old calendars and select your favorite images. Be on the lookout for unique scenes, objects or facial expressions in each image to give your cards creative flair. Set the images you've selected aside for later.

2. Select a sheet of card stock and envelope for each image. Make sure that the color coordinates with the colors in the image and that the envelope is sized so that the card you place inside will be large enough for the image you've selected.

3. Measure the envelope then use the measurements to cut the card out of the card stock. You can make unfolded, single-folded, double-folded or even tri-folded cards. Use your imagination—the sky's the limit! Double check your work by slipping the folded card into the envelope to ensure a perfect fit.

4. Cut out your image so that it is approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch smaller on all sides than the card you have just created. This will create a nice colored border on the outside of your card. Use adhesive mounting squares to attach the image to the front of your card.

5. Cut out one or more pieces of white card stock (depending on how many folds your card has) for the inside of your card. You'll want to measure each piece so that it is approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch smaller on all sides than the card you have just created.

6. Repeat Steps 1-5 for the remaining images. Now you have a nice set of cards, which will be perfect for thank-you notes, birthday cards or "just because".
