Put your business on the map with a free Google Maps listing.
Whether you run a coffee shop or a hardware store, getting your business listed on Google Maps can help customers find your service. Google maps with local business listings often appear in search engine results, particularly when users search for goods and services in a specific city, state or country. Adding a listing to Google Maps is free and takes only a few minutes with the Google Places submission form.
Instructions
1. Open your web browser and navigate to places.google.com/business.
2. Click the "List Your Business" button.
3. Enter the country location and telephone number for the business in the dialog boxes. Google will now search its database for any existing information on your business.
4. Read the information displayed for your business. Correct any inaccuracies by deleting the existing text and entering new text.
5. Type the information required for the business listing into the relevant dialog boxes. You must supply a brief description of the business and address and contact information. You can also choose to add opening hours, accepted payment methods and even photos and videos of your business.
6. Read your listing submission and check the details for accuracy. Click "Submit." Google verifies all new business listings and you will now be asked to select your preferred verification method. You can choose a phone call, SMS text message or postal verification. Verification usually takes 24 hours.
