Troubleshoot a Hoover Wind Tunnel
Hoover offers its line of WindTunnel vacuums in both canister and upright models with options including bagged or bagless, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters and self-propelled models. All types of vacuums include Hoover's patented WindTunnel technology that lifts dirt, trapping it so it doesn't scatter back to the floor. Some of the issues you may have to troubleshoot when using your Hoover WindTunnel, according to Hoover, will include the unit not operating properly because of obstructions, incorrect settings or worn or broken belts.
Instructions
1. Reverse the polarized plug-a plug with one blade wider than the other-if it doesn't fit into the outlet securely. If it still will not fit, try another outlet or contact an electrician to install the correct type of outlet.
2. Turn the hand grip to "ON," check that the plug is secured in the outlet or replace the fuse or reset the breaker on your electrical box if your Hoover WindTunnel will not operate.
3. Empty and clean the dirt cup and dirt cup filter if you experience low suction. Rinse the exhaust filter with water. Check for obstructions in the nozzle connector, wand or hose. Make sure the hose connections are tight.
4. Turn the floor/carpet switch to "CARPET" if the agitator brush roll won't operate. If this does not resolve the issue, make sure the hose power cord is securely plugged in or replace broken or worn belts.
5. Apply less pressure if the powered hand tool brush won't operate. Remove any blockages from the turbine channel. Replace broken or worn belts.
6. Switch the carpet height control to a higher setting if the cleaner becomes too hard to push.
7. Switch the self-propel button to "ON" if the cleaner won't self-propel. If this does not resolve the issue, replace the flat belt.
