Generate electricity using your bicycle.
There are plenty of ways to generate electricity right at home, from small photovoltaic cell arrays to personal wind generators, and even tiny hydroelectric generators that can run in a river or stream near your home. But by far the easiest way to start cranking out your own watts is to connect an electric generator to a stationary bike, or even a real bicycle. There are a number of kits that allow you to do this. They're especially popular for powering small television sets or computers---you generate your own power while you surf the Internet or watch TV, and burn calories at the same time.
Instructions
1. Place the bike stand on a flat surface and attach the generator box to it. This is usually held in place with two thumbscrews or similar fasteners.
2. Line up the bike's rear wheel axle with the axle holders on the bike stand.
3. Tighten the outside adjustment knobs on the axle holders until the bike is firmly in place and the rear wheel is centered on the generator's tension roller.
4. Lock the threaded rods on the axle holder in place by tightening the inside adjustment knobs until they press firmly against the bike stand.
5. Tighten the tension adjustment knob until it touches the tire of the bike, then turn the knob one and a half more times to set the the proper tension.
6. Connect the male to male power connector to the battery pack, and then to the bike generator.
