A service catalog is a publication that allows you to advertise your business. Like a standard catalog that displays products for sale, a service catalog displays a listing of the company's offered services. For instance, if a mortgage company produces a service catalog it will likely list the various lending programs available, along with features and benefits. Learn the basics of design a service catalog for your business.
Instructions
1. Decide on the list of services you want to advertise to potential clients.
2. Determine the size and format of the service catalog. Use a graphic layout program, like Adobe InDesign or Quark Xpress, to design the catalog. Create a standard catalog sized at 8.5 by 11 inches or a more compact catalog size of about 5 by 7 inches if you wish.
3. Design the front cover of the catalog. Include your logo and the title (such as "2011 Service Catalog") along with an attractive background graphic that represents your business in particular or business activities in general. For instance, if you sell mortgage services you can include a graphic of a couple receiving the keys to their new home at the closing table.
4. Summarize the list of services on the first page of the catalog in a format similar to a table of contents.
5. Dedicate one page of each subsequent page to describing each service in more detail. List the name of the service at the top of the page as a headline, and then add paragraphs describing its features and benefits. Include testimonials from customers who have used these services, and attractive graphics to draw attention to the information. Add pricing information, or the name and phone number of a contact at your business who can provide a quote, at the bottom of each page.
6. List your business contact information on the back inside page of the catalog. Feature two or three of your most popular services on the back cover, along with references to the pages where the reader can find out more information about them. Include awards, certifications, licenses, professional associations, your business motto and any other favorable information about the company on the back cover as well.
